This raw land farm was acquired in October 2016 and will be divided into 50 individually deeded 0.5 acre (2,000 m2) coffee farm parcels.
Sitting at around 1,700 meters and with rich, virgin soil, this land perfectly fits our strict criteria needed to develop an amazing Specialty Coffee farm.
Like an artist with a blank canvas, or in Andres case an engineer with a blank set of plans, we can design the perfect Specialty Coffee farm from scratch.
Before a sapling is planted we can test, treat and prepare the soil. Irrigation systems will be designed and installed as well as proper drainage where needed.
We can then select the most in-demand varietals of coffee in the market today and plant them how and where is best for that specific tree. Some varietals are best suited to the steepest slopes while others do better with more shade.
Certain areas will be planted with a specially selected combination of varietals so we can “grow” our own unique farm blend.
The right type of cover crop will be planted to compliment the coffee trees, provide the right amount of shade needed and supply extra food for our workers.
The lowest, flattest land will be marked out for workers accommodation and storage facilities. New road ways and access routes will be drawn up.
Literally every aspect of the farm will be designed before a stone is turned.
